KALAMAZOO, Mich (WOOD) - A Kalamazoo business owner is calling it the worst day
of his business career.
Alvan Motor Freight, a family owned business, is ceasing operations after nearly
70 years and filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. _________________ http://usacdljobs.com

The company had a total of 525 employees working at 14 freight terminals in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
If a company is not extremely large, or does not have sound financial backing from an outside source, more and more of these companies will disappear. It is a shame, but it is something we are all going to see more often in the near future.
Another bit of bad news is that there are not a lot of companies hiring in MI, similar to what is being seen in FL and ME.
